DGX Gears XTRA - Standard DIN Assembly (Conversion Kit)
The optional auto-closure feature (aka ACD) on the DGX Gears XTRA first stage shuts the DIN inlet when not fully engaged on the valve, potentially avoiding the inadvertent introduction of water and other contamination into the first stage. Although the auto-closure feature is popular it is also controversial, some divers who are meticulous with their equipment care feel the auto-closure feature just introduces another potential failure point (causing no breathing gas at all) and prefer the standard 300 Bar DIN inlet fitting. We do not recommend the ACD option for use in technical diving applications, especially where the diver may perform valve shutdown drills.
The Standard DIN Assembly conversion kit can be used to change a DGX Gears XTRA 1st stage from Auto Closure DIN to a Standard DIN simply by removing the ACD assembly (parts D1 through D10) and installing the Standard DIN Assembly. The ACD assembly is removed using a 4mm hex key and a ¾-inch socket wrench. (Reference the DGX Gears XTRA 1st stage service manual Section 4, Step 1 through Step 6 for instructions on removing the ACD assembly.) The standard DIN assembly conversion kit is installed with no lubrication using a ¾-inch socket torqued to {260 in-lbs | 30 Nm} and a 6mm hex key torqued to {170 in lbs | 19 Nm}. Dive Gear Express recommends the DIN conversion be performed by a regulator service technician.
The components in the kit are oxygen compatible and oxygen clean prior to use. If the regulator is intended for use with any gas containing more than 23.5% oxygen, then it should serviced as appropriate according to your technician training for oxygen service procedures. The pamphlet CGA G4.1 "Cleaning Equipment for Oxygen Service", describes the best practices for inspecting and cleaning equipment used in the production, storage, distribution and use of oxygen.

Customer Reviews
Availability of sub-assemblies and components, repair parts, specialized tools and maintenance manuals does not imply qualification to assemble and/or service scuba equipment.
Most authorized dealers are able to perform warranty, repair and service work on your equipment. Service by other than an authorized dealer may void the warranty. Improper service of dive equipment can lead to serious injury or death.
Dive Gear Express recommends that divers participating in more advanced technical and exploration type diving be trained in equipment service. We recommend that non-qualified individuals seek professional training/mentoring before attempting repairs or servicing on any diving equipment.
