The Dive Rite Spring-Heel XT Fins offer an excellent combination of performance and value. Designed for performance and preferred by experienced divers, the special blade design works for any style of kick, including frog kicks, modified flutter, and power kicks. The XT fin's blend of Monoprene™, an injection-molded thermoplastic elastomer material, offers excellent balance of power to work ratio, providing efficient finning in high flow or stiff currents. They are stiff, yet with plenty of snap. Plus they are lighter weight than traditional rubber fins meaning you are less likely to cramp with long distance swimming.
These fins in Dive Rite's Olive Green color (ODG) that matches their UltraClear mask also come with a marine grade stainless steel spring-heel strap incorporating polyoxymethylene (aka Delrin and POM) swivel buckles that allows the strap to swivel out of the way for easier donning. The heel-strap length can be changed by moving the buckle locking screw between 2 positions on the buckle, allowing the strap fit to be customized to your preference. The strap also has an updated design heel pad with a low profile finger hold pull tab that is durable and unlikely to become a snag point yet provides comfort with the ease of use. Divers can customize the fit of their straps by moving the buckle locking screw between 2 positions on the buckle.
When selecting the size, keep in mind which style suit you will be diving -- wetsuit booties or a drysuit. The Extra Large size accommodates some oversize drysuit boots.

WARNING
This mask is not a "pool toy"; it is intended for use by SCUBA divers who are trained to make a proper water entry while protecting the mask and regulator with their hand. Improper handling or use may cause lenses to shatter upon impact.
Don't use toothpaste as an abrasive cleaner on modern dive masks, especially those masks that have optical quality ultra-clear glass lenses, vision correction lenses or 'optical coatings' on the lenses. You will either damage the lenses, or needlessly waste toothpaste since most modern toothpaste formulations are not at all abrasive. The same goes for using a lighter to 'burn' the lens to prepare a new mask. Dive Gear Express will not warranty masks that have been treated with abrasives or burned with lighters.
Most new dive masks do have mold release agents in the flexible skirt that during storage will migrate to the surface of the lens and cause fogging. These deposits can be safely removed with an extra application of a powerful surfactant like liquid dish soap, baby shampoo, SeaQuick or SeaDrops defog.

What Size Fins Do I Need?
Unlike shoes, the question is difficult to answer with fins because a 'shoe' size is only part of the answer. The brand and type of neoprene bootie you wear, particularly if you wear heavy soled or rock boots, will have as much effect on the selection of fin foot pocket as the shoe size. Some people, especially those with high arches, prefer a loose fit in their fin and others prefer a snug fit. Fitting drysuit boots in the very large sizes is especially problematic.
There is no size standardization between brands of fins (or even between different models from the same brand) and so you cannot assume that a size in one brand of fin is the same dimensions as the size in another brand; even when the designs look very similar. Taking some actual measurements of your boot while on your foot and comparing to our foot pocket dimension charts will help determine the size selection for your desired fit.
