The Apeks Lifeline reels are loaded with a 1.6mm (about #18) round braided polyester line perfect for diving applications. The line is 16-plait construction with a polyester yarn core for additional strength and roundness plus the yarn is pre-dyed safety orange to maintain excellent color fastness. The low-stretch abrasion resistant polyester line is also UV stable as well as resistant to both acid and alkali. Slightly negative in buoyancy, the line has a specific gravity of 1.38 so it sinks in both fresh and salt water.
